Colors of the Mountain was the Autumn/Winter 2022 collection from the Elisa Rivera era, now Rivera. Inspired by mountain landscapes, the collection explored a palette of earth tones, greens, greys and lighter shades, combining different textures and silhouettes designed to create versatile looks.
Archive note: this article documents the historic AW22 collection. The garments originally mentioned belonged to that season and do not represent Rivera's current availability.
Colors of the Mountain AW22: a collection inspired by the mountains
The starting point for Colors of the Mountain was the colours and textures associated with different natural landscapes: ochres, browns, reddish and copper tones; forest-inspired greens; sand and ice shades; and a spectrum of greys that ran through much of the collection.
Rather than reproducing the mountains literally, the collection brought this colour palette into the autumn and winter wardrobe through layering, contrasts and combinations of materials.
The Colors of the Mountain colour palette
Earth tones were one of the collection's main themes, alongside greens, greys and lighter colours. This combination made it possible to build monochrome outfits or introduce contrast through outerwear, knitwear and accessories.
Seen in perspective, the palette reflects an idea that remains useful when building a wardrobe: choosing colours that work well together makes it easier to create more combinations with fewer garments.
Textures and materials in the AW22 collection
The collection incorporated a range of seasonal textures, including knitwear, wool, corduroy, faux suede and technical-looking materials. Alternative materials and finishes were also used to create contrast within the looks.
As this is a historic collection, the exact composition should always be understood at the level of each individual garment rather than as a characteristic shared by the collection as a whole.
From an executive look to a more urban combination
Versatility was one of the central ideas behind Colors of the Mountain. Many looks were designed to shift in character by changing the top, footwear, accessories or an additional layer.
This approach allows the same base to work in different settings: a jacket can add structure, while changing the shoes or accessories can take the outfit in a more relaxed direction.
Knitwear and preppy references
One of the aesthetic themes of AW22 was the combination of knitwear with preppy references. Knitted jackets and other transitional pieces made it possible to play with layers and proportions without relying exclusively on heavier outerwear.
Rather than treating those trends as rules for today, they are now interesting as part of Rivera's creative archive and as an example of how a collection can reinterpret classic codes for a particular season.
A historic collection in Rivera's evolution
Colors of the Mountain belongs to the period when the women's line was still presented under the Elisa Rivera name. Since 2023, the brand has used the name Rivera, bringing the evolution of the project together under a single identity.
The AW22 collection therefore forms part of a journey that continues to focus on design, pattern cutting, combinations of fabrics and garment versatility.
Responsible design and proximity at Rivera
Today, Rivera garments are designed in Spain and made in carefully selected workshops, using responsible materials and processes intended to accompany you and stand the test of time.
As an archive, Colors of the Mountain reflects a specific period in Rivera's history. In the current collection, design continues to be developed in Spain and production takes place in carefully selected workshops; most of the workshops we work with are in Spain, within 150 km of our Madrid offices.
These statements describe Rivera's current way of working and should not be interpreted as an individual manufacturing record for each historic Colors of the Mountain garment.
